Creatures. Large and small, they populate the world as significantly as "we" do, and I would be remiss to avert my camera from their portraiture.

More must be said about the images of tagged and fenced domesticated animals: I always cast a friendly smile and hello in their direction, and they always grant me friendly permission to capture an image for "us" to admire -- yet, there is so much more to contemplate. My strong emotional bond with farm animals runs up against their bondage.

One memorable day, I was photographing a corral of sheep when they escaped their fence, and ran in every direction. I rallied to the aid of the farm hand, and his herding dogs, and we all ran about and returned the sheep -- all of us then falling back into our place and pace. Free for a brief moment.
